Shoes that Save is a program started by World Compassion Terry Law Ministries in 2006 in an effort to meet the physical and spiritual needs of young Iraqi children by providing them with a new pair of shoes and an introduction to Jesus Christ.
In 2009 World Compassion partnered with KXOJ, Oral Roberts University, Pay-Less Shoes and others throughout the Tulsa community to help raise 10,000 pairs of shoes for the children of Iraq.
To date World Compassion has provided over 40,000 pairs of shoes to Iraqi children along with an introduction to Jesus. With an average of 6 people in each Iraqi household, we’ve had the opportunity to impact approximately 240,000 people with the Gospel message through this single outreach.
Through a generous donor we’ve already secured a 3 to 1 matching gift for the Shoes that Save campaign in the Tulsa community. For every pair of shoes that someone donates, it will be matched with 3 additional pairs. So for anyone who donates one pair of shoes, they're actually reaching 4 kids. Our desire is to raise 2,500 pairs of shoes through the Tulsa community, which will reach our total goal of 10,000 pairs through matching gifts.
In a country where 40% of the population is under the age of 14, we have an opportunity to share the loving message of Jesus Christ with the next generation of leaders in Iraq. Come join us!
