Disaster Relief
Part of our calling as Christians is to reach out to those whose lives have been devastated by forces beyond their control.
In 2003 World Compassion Terry Law Ministries provided $550,000 worth of medical supplies to hospitals in Baghdad to show Muslims suffering from the ravages of war that Christians wanted to save them, not harm them.
When some of the largest disasters of our time struck Indonesia in 2004 and Myanmar in 2008, we provided water purification units that provided whole communities with fresh drinking water. Our church planters in Myanmar were also able to provide food for both the body and the soul by distributing rice and Bibles to people in desperate need of both.
Whether the disaster is natural or man-made, we view these situations as critical times where we can most clearly demonstrate the love of Christ to those who live in nations that have been hostile to the good news of our Lord.
See the people of Myanmar receiving rice and Bibles after the cyclone in 2008.
