The Safe House

Women from the small religious minority group known as the Yazidi people have become slaves under ISIS and their extreme interpretation of Islam. They are mothers, young women, and girls – bought, sold, and used like property. Many are forced to work, beaten, and sexually abused at will by ISIS soldiers.

World Compassion is helping to open and operate a safe house for these women in order to restore and empower them to integrate back into society.

The home can facilitate up to 28 women for six months at a time. Here, the women will receive counseling to help restore their dignity along with practical skills training such as sewing and computer lessons. Above all else, they will be shown unconditional and transformative love that will introduce them to the Gospel.

The scholarship cost to sponsor one of these women for one month is $750 (£656/month), and we’re inviting you to help us restore these women’s lives through the safe house! A gift of any size makes an immediate impact. Together, we can help restore what was lost!
